  • Go to the dentist regularly

  • Check your teeth to the dentist every six months. Even though you have no complaints about oral health, there are many benefits to getting your teeth checked regularly. If there are abnormalities in the gums, tooth decay, or a more serious disease, the doctor can detect them early. Besides being easier to treat, usually the cost of treatment for diseases that are still in the initial stages will be cheaper when compared to the cost of treatment for conditions that are already severe.
  • Always use the right toothbrush

  • Selection of the right toothbrush also has an impact on dental health. The maximum use of your toothbrush is three months. Even so, one thing to note is the condition of the bristles on the toothbrush. If the feathers are in bloom, even fall out, do not use it again even though it has not been three months. You are advised to choose a toothbrush with soft bristles so as not to hurt the gums. How to brush your teeth must also be considered. Hold the toothbrush at a 45 degree angle to the gums. Brush your teeth with short movements, not too hard, and do it in a circular motion. No need to overdo it when brushing your teeth, just do 10-15 times the strokes per tooth. Two substances in cigarettes, namely nicotine and tar, have the potential to undermine gums and make teeth turn yellow and black. Another disadvantage if you smoke is the risk of decreasing the quality of the bones that support the teeth, so the teeth more easily lose. Smoking also increases the risk of developing oral cancer, due to the effects of various chemicals found in cigarettes.
  • Avoid soda

  • Phosphoric acid and citric acid are two types of acids used to add flavor to soda. Both of these substances can threaten dental health because of their nature which can undermine the surface of the teeth. In addition, soft drinks also generally contain lots of sugar.
  • Practice using dental floss

  • It is recommended that you routinely use dental floss (dental floss) to help remove plaque and maintain healthy teeth. Like a toothbrush, dental floss must also be done in the right way. The trick is to try wrapping one end of the thread on the index finger of the right hand and wrap the other end on the index finger of the left hand. Pinch both ends of the thread with the index finger and thumb. Keep the threads tight and start cleaning between your teeth one at a time.
